‘Anonymous’ to represent Sarawak in grand finals

KUCHING: SMK Datuk Patinggi Haji Abdul Gapor emerged victorious at the Iquiz Malaysia Sarawak Region competition which saw secondary school team ‘Anonymous’ beat 97 teams from Sarawak to represent the State in the grand finals in Kuala Lumpur next month.

The competition jointly organised by Rotary Club of Bandar Sunway and Rotary Club of Kuching Central saw ‘Anonymous’ beat six teams from Lodge International School, SMK St Thomas, SMK Datuk Patinggi Haji Abdul Gapor and SMK Bandar Kuching No.1 in the final rounds.

The team of Rotary Interactors Damien Chan, Davin Ngu and Ryan Low had been preparing for the past few months and though competition was stiff, their hard work paid off as on Sept 3 they will compete with seven other winners from different regions of the country for the grand prize of a full scholarship of their choice at any Sunway College branch for each member.

They were also presented with the Challenge Trophy by Rotary International Past District Governor Andre Suharto and Rotary Club of Kuching Central president Clarence Yong.

The first and second runners-up were ‘The Neapolitans’ and ‘The Intellectuals’, both teams from SMK St Thomas.
