INTERNATIONAL
SERVICE PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES
|
|
|
|
The
aim of International Service in Rotary is expressed in he Fourth
Avenue of Service, namely to encourage and foster the advancement of
international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world
fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal
of service.
Rotary International and our District 3310 have outlined a number of
goals, objectives and associated activities to be carried out as
opportunities for our Club and members to contribute to the
achievement of the ideal inherent in the Fourth Avenue of Service.
|
|
|
|
|
|
To
meet the above-mentioned goals, objectives and
responsibilities, the Rotary Club of Kuching Central has
planned and undertaken a comprehensive program of activities
for the current Rotary Year, some of which are as follows:
| 1. |
Promotion
of and Provide Support to The Rotary Foundation
Our
Club was given the opportunity to host and organize The
Rotary Foundation (TRF) seminar in Kuching. The seminar
was organized to educate Rotarians, especially the new
Rotarians, on the goals and programs of TRF.
Some
of the goals and programmes of the Rotary Foundation
are:

Rotary International President’s emphasis on:

poverty |
| ~ |

|
| * |

families |
Our
Club hosted and sponsored a Fellowship Dinner on the
evening before the seminar to welcome the distinguished
speakers, participating Rotarians and their spouses. TRF
seminar was successfully held on 20 September 2003 at
Merdeka Palace, Kuching. DG David Tong and PDG Fong Hoe

Rotarians Worldwide
