Vocational Awards presented to Sgt. Petrus Medi Ak. Gimmi and Sgt. Augustine by Sen Khoon both from Polis di Raja Malaysia for exemplary record of service of excellence.
 
4th Board of Directors Meeting at Rtn. Goh Hee Seng's residence.
 
18th Weekly Meeting. New proposal for membership for Encik Philip Tang.
 
19th Weekly Meeting. Attendance: 15/21 (71%).
 
20th Weekly Meeting.
 
A.G.M. postponed to next week for amendments of Constitutions in line with R.I. for the Club.
 
Golfers tee off at 7.00 a.m. at Sarawak Golf and Country Club for friendly Competition.

21st Weekly Meeting.
A.G.M. was held. Meeting discussed and adopted proposed amendments to Club Constitutions and By-Laws in line with New R.I. Constitutions that the membership shall be composed of adult persons (females included) of good characters and of good business and professional reputation subject to writing to the Registrar for approval.
 
22nd Weekly Meeting.
Interactor Redy Jeoffry Mohd Rambli was sponsored by our Club to attend Rotary Youth Leadership Award Seminar at Ipoh from 10th to 16th December, 1989.
 
E.G.M. cum Third Ladies Night at Rtn. Andre Suharto's residence. Election of new office bearers for Rotary Year (1990-91) was conducted. President-Elect Frankie Yang would be the next President.
 
Treasure Hunt program participated by Rotarians from our Club and Rotary Club of Kuching and their families around Kuching.
 
23rd Weekly Meeting.
Club's Anniversary Day. Birthday cake presented by Holiday Inn, Kuching.
 
24th Weekly Meeting.
Last meeting of the first half year. Attendance: 15/21 (71%).

Induction of new Rotarian Philip Tang.
Total membership remained at 21 with resignation of Rtn. Tiong Soon King on transfer to Sibu Club.
 
5th Board of Directors meeting at Rtn. Sim Choo Phong's residence.
 
Handling Over of Used Clothings for Penans to Y.B. Abang Johari, Minister of Industrial Development at Wisma Sumber Alam sd s Community Service Project. Rotarians present included James Hii, Chua Teck Kheng, Odita Ibrahim, Andre Suharto, Zainal Abidin and Michael Chew.
 
26th Weekly Meeting. 
 
Encik Francis Wong, a guest from Vancouver, Canada talked broadly on migration to Canada.
 
27th Weekly Meeting.
 
January being Rotary Awareness Month, Rotarians present were tested verbally for their basic knowledge in Rotary.

About 70 Interactors and Teacher Advisors led by Rtn. Wilford Teo and Frankie Yang visited the Terminal Building and Control Tower at Kuching International Airport as a joint Vocational and Youth Service project.
 
30th Weekly Meeting.
 
Interactor Redy Jeoffry Mohd Rambli was invited to talk on RYLA Seminar held at Ipoh. RYLA Certificate was presented to him by President during Meeting.
 
9.00 a.m. visited Carlsberg Brewery Office to receive sponsored prizes for Joggerthon from the Manager. Rtn. James Hii and Frankie Yang and the press were present.
 
31st Weekkly Meeting.
 
Speaker: Madame Stella from British Council, talked on the work and function of British Council in East Malaysia.
