Rotary Foundation Seminar

A Rotary Foundation Seminar was organized by our Club on the 28th of October, 1999 for Rotary Clubs under Group 9, namely the Rotary Club of Kuching, Rotary Club of Kuching South, Rotary Club of Kuching Jaya, and Rotary Club of Kuching Central.

Purpose: The purpose of the seminar was to 
encourage Rotarians to be exposed to up-to-date information on Rotary Foundation programmes, exchange ideas and to support Rotary International to achieve understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational and cultural exchange programmes.

The purpose of the Low Cost Housing Project is for the benefit of the shelterless and low income people at Sangli, India. The participating club will contribute 37% of the total project cost and the balance of 63% will come from Rotary International Matching Grants. 
Group Study Exchange

On 30/11/99 to 04/12/99 
the club hosted a Group Study Exchange comprising of a college Science/Maths instructor, Kathy Jenkias from Danville Area Community College, Illinois, USA. The benefit is for our members to learn from Kathy and other team members regarding their lives and works in Illinois, USA hence enhancing International fellowship.
The visitors were also given an opportunity to visit our Cultural Village to understand the different cultures of our ethnic people and to see the development around Kuching.
